Amplifying BIPOC Voices in Sustainability Series

September 30, 2020 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Join UW–Madison Office of Sustainability for the first event of the new “Amplifying BIPOC Voices in Sustainability Series,” brought to you by the Green Allies Coalition! The Green Allies Coalition created this series to help recenter voices that have historically been excluded from these conversations on our campus and across mainstream environmentalism.
This month’s topic is “What does amplifying voices look like?” We will be joined by guest panelists Dr. Sumudu Attapattu, Director of UW-Madison’s Law School Research Centers, Caitlyn LoMonte, Assistant Director for Social Justice Programs at the Multicultural Student Center, and Juliana Bennett, a founder and representative of the UW-Madison BIPOC Coalition.
This event is free and open to everyone, so invite your friends, student organizations, family members, or anyone else in your community. Also make sure to follow the Office of Sustainability on Instagram at @SustainUW to find some related resources for this month’s topic and to take part in an opportunity to submit questions for our panelists!
FURTHER INFORMATION:
During each month of this series, the Office of Sustainability will highlight the work of UW-Madison BIPOC community members who are engaging with sustainability. On the last Wednesday of the month, we will host a virtual event where attendees can join us in learning firsthand from the featured community members.
Send them an email at greenallies@g-groups.wisc.edu if you have any questions or concerns. To follow the Green Allies Coalition, visit their page here:
