Art Institute of Chicago | Fracture Lines: Jan and Benedikte Groth’s Tegn I (Sign)
May 19, 2021 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Free, registration required
The tapestry Tegn I (Sign)“(1970), created by Jan and Benedikte Groth, forms the locus for this conversation about the hierarchy of art forms in the post-1945 period. Associate curator of Textiles Erica Warren and Rhoades curatorial intern Hanne Graversen discuss the ways in which questions of medium, gender, and nationality inform such perceived hierarchies.
