Artist Talk Bohyun Yoon: Visualizing Invisibility

November 20, 2019 @ 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm

Join the UW Art Department for an artist talk by Bohyun Yoon on Wednesday, November 20th, at 12:30pm in the Education Building, Room 159.

Yoon is an artist and associate professor at Virginia Commonwealth University. He received two MFAs, from Rhode Island School of Design and Tama Art University in Japan, respectively. In his work, he is increasingly drawn to the conceptual properties of glass more than the actual, physical glass itself. He searches for ways to visualize its transparency, often experimenting with other materials to do so. Yoon is currently expanding his study of visibility and perception by exploring the illusion of human relationships.

A hot glass demo will follow on Friday in the Glass Lab (Art Lofts 1165) at 2:30pm.

Sponsored by the Wisconsin Ideas in Education Lecture Series, WCER, and the UW-Madison Glass Lab.
