Arts + Lit Lab | Strollin’ Middleton Jazz Festival & Grand Opening of the Stone Horse Green
October 8, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 9:00 pm

Arts + Literature Laboratory, Middleton Community Development Authority, and Visit Middleton present the Strollin’ Middleton Jazz Festival and Grand Opening of the Stone Horse Green with a special 2-day event Friday-Saturday, October 7-8, 2022. FREE!
The celebration will kick off with our annual Friday night Strollin’ neighborhood jazz crawl in venues throughout downtown Middleton, including the Mustard Museum, Villa Dolce, Louisianne’s, Middleton Senior Center, and the Stone Horse Green.
On Saturday, the festivities will include more live jazz on the Stone Horse Green, along with family arts activities, dancing, and the opening ceremony. We’ll close the night with a headlining performance by the Alexander/McLean Quartet featuring Chicago’s Dee Alexander, vocals; John McLean, guitar; Emma Dayhuff, bass; and Charles Rick Heath IV, drums.

Dee Alexander is one of Chicago’s most gifted and respected female vocalist/songwriters. Her talents span every music genre, from Gospel to R&B, from Blues to Neo-Soul. Yet her true heart and soul are experienced in their purest form through her performance of Jazz music. From a soft, sultry traditional ballad, to a contemporary Jazz-Funk groove; from a high flying swing, to a scat-filled romp, Dee Alexander delivers each style with a passion and love of music that comes across in each and every note, and with a style and grace that is truly her own.
John McLean’s career has included work as a guitarist, composer, arranger, producer, bandleader, and educator. Since completing his studies at the Berklee College of Music (B.M.) and the University of Miami (M.M.), he has toured throughout the world and appeared on over 50 recordings.
