British Museum | Curators’ Introduction: Peru
November 11, 2021 @ 11:30 am - 12:30 pm

Join curators Jago Cooper and Cecilia Pardo-Grau for an introduction to our next special exhibition.
The extraordinary past cultures of Peru were shaped by unique ways of living within the geographically and climatically diverse landscapes of the central Andes, one of the cradles of world civilisation from around 3000 BC.
As a result, the peoples of the Andes constructed and perceived time, space, economy, gender, power and the environment differently to all other past societies around the world, yet thrived for thousands of years. Their remarkable legacy challenges our understanding of what makes a successful society.
In this free online event, our curators will discuss the breathtaking environments and world views of Andean people, as well the wider themes and highlights of this eye-opening new show.
