CEAS | Music, Resilience, and the People of North Korea

August 25 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

CEAS is collaborating with Upper House for this event with Euimin Shin, the artist-in-residence at Upper House. Shin has returned from an extraordinary summer research trip to Berlin, Germany, where she met and interviewed Koreans and studied a visionary Korean-German composer.
During this event, Euimin will interweave the narratives of millennial change agents in North Korea with the story of Korean-German composer Isang Yun, a man who sought peace and reunification of the Korean peninsula. She will share her reflections on the role of music and her role as a musician, a Korean, and a peacemaker, capping off the evening with her own performance of Isang Yun’s solo violin work.
