Join the Chazen Museum of Art as we celebrate the opening of Premonitions: New Works by Monty Little. Enjoy complimentary appetizers, a cash bar, and remarks by Monty Little beginning at 5:30 PM.
Premonitions: New Works by Monty Little, is the Russell and Paula Panczenko MFA Prize exhibition by 2023 MFA candidate Monty Little. The works on view in this exhibition forefront the erasure of Indigenous identities within the United States.
About Monty Little:
Monty Little is Diné, originally from Tuba City, Arizona located in the Navajo (Diné) reservation. He received is BFA from the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe, New Mexico in 2015. Further, Little is an Iraqi war veteran who served in the Marine Corps with 2nd Battalion, 5th Marines from 2004 to 2008. Little has exhibited nationally and internationally, including the National Veterans Art Museum, International Print Center New York, Maloof Foundation for Arts and Crafts, Ralph T. Coe Foundation, Wisconsin Veterans Museum, Museum of Contemporary Native Arts, and Rainmaker Gallery. Little is a MFA Candidate for printmaking at the University of Wisconsin – Madison where he and his family reside.
