Dallas Museum of Art | Cheryl Strayed: Virtual Arts & Letters Live

June 28, 2021 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm

In conversation with Joel Ferrell
Tiny Beautiful Things: From Page to Stage
In partnership with Dallas Theater Center
Perhaps best known as the #1 New York Times bestselling author of the memoir Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail, Cheryl Strayed is also a dazzling digital Dear Abby and the author of Tiny Beautiful Things: Advice on Love and Life from Dear Sugar.
The letters in the book were submitted anonymously to Strayed aka “Sugar;” it is ultimately a collection of intimate exchanges between strangers. In the span of only a few pages, Strayed can move readers from laughter to tears with her musings on death, love, personal hardship, and triumphs both big and small. ”Wise and compassionate” (The New York Times Book Review), brimming with humor and insight—absolute honesty and amazing one-liners—this book is a balm for everything life throws our way.
This fall Dallas Theater Center will produce the play Tiny Beautiful Things, directed by Joel Ferrell. Join us for this special event in which Cheryl Strayed will discuss her personal experience as “Sugar” and her creative process in writing the book. Ferrell will moderate the conversation and get audiences excited about the upcoming DTC stage adaptation.
