Abstract – Thinking about Perspective

Richard Talbot is an artist who still uses, and remains fascinated by, those methods of drawing that come under the heading of ‘Linear Perspective’, and which were developed more than 550 years ago. In 2022, why would artists, or anyone, still be interested in the mechanics, as well as the meaning and nature of Linear Perspective? Richard will discuss those questions and will also describe his own drawing practice where the mechanics of this way of drawing and thinking about space becomes the content and subject matter of his work.
