August 26, 2021 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

Free and open to all via Zoom
Spain’s Islamic architecture and history and post-conquest Mudéjar art inspired many tourists to travel to Spain—and the guidebooks they took with them. Join Eugenia Afinoguénova, professor and chair, Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures, Marquette University, as she discusses the facts and fantasies of Islamic Spain.
This lecture is held in conjunction with the exhibition Americans in Spain: Painting and Travel, 1820–1920 (https://mam.org/exhibitions/details/americans-in-spain.php)
