Milwaukee Public Museum | Systems of Racial Violence: A Discussion Series

This FREE two-part panel-discussion series will explore policy and racial justice movements in South Africa and the United States. Both discussions will be moderated by Dr. Robert S. Smith, Resident Historian of America’s Black Holocaust Museum.
Immediately following the discussions, MPM will host an optional Courageous Conversation facilitated by Wellness Coach Ambrose Wilson-Brown. This 60-minute free program will encourage individuals to react and process information presented in the panel discussion while expressing views openly and truthfully.
Session 2, June 17th, 2021 — “The Long Struggle: Resistance Movements Against Apartheid and Jim Crow”

This panel discussion will explore resistance movements to Jim Crow and Apartheid. It will also include current activists challenging the lingering vestiges of racially oppressive systems.

Courageous Conversation: 1:00–2:00 p.m.
