CANCELED: MMoCA Gallery Talk: Robert Lostutter & Gladys Nilsson

March 13, 2020 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Robert Lostutter and Gladys Nilsson will discuss their work and the relationships that led to the development of Chicago’s exuberant art scene with its focus on fine craftsmanship, vibrant line and color, and fanciful imagery based in representation. Lostutter has been a leading figure in Chicago’s visual art scene for more than 40 years, gaining special prominence for his finely rendered hybrid portraits. Nilsson gained early recognition as one of the nation’s premiere watercolorists, which she employs to create lively, enigmatic narratives spiked with humor and wit.

The discussion will be moderated by MMoCA’s curator of the permanent collection, Mel Becker Solomon, in conjunction with the opening of “Uncommon Accumulation”: The Mark and Judy Bednar Collection of Chicago Imagism.

This talk is free for members/$10 for non-members. Lecture hall seating is limited.
