Points of Departure Artist Panel
November 7, 2019 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Artist Panel featuring contributors to the “Points of Departure” exhibition: Maggie Sasso, Teresa Faris, and Yevgeniya Kaganovich will discuss their artwork and experiences as activist women artists.
Maggie Sasso produces conceptual bodies of work that express macrocosmic ideas through microcosmic detail, and examines the role of material culture in relationship to our collective past.
Teresa Faris’ work explores the notion of advantage and disadvantage that, adjacently, resides within all beings. Privilege comes in many forms ranging from skin/eye color, physical and mental ability to class, status and power.
Yevgeniya Kaganovich is a Milwaukee-based artist, whose hybrid practice encompasses jewelry and metalsmithing, sculpture and installation.
Free and open to all. RSVP not required, but appreciated here: https://uwmadison.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_3WPv0YW7YX9xfox.
The “Points of Departure” exhibit is on display through November 24th in the Ruth Davis Design Gallery.
