“Inventing the Alphabet”
Author and book artist Dr. Johanna Drucker, UCLA, discusses this history of the alphabet on September 20 at the Chazen Museum of Art auditorium.
The alphabet is a set of signs that has survived 4000 years and undergirds the Internet and global systems of communication of today. This talk addresses the ways our understanding of the alphabet has changed over time.
4:30 P.M. lecture, 5:30 reception & book signing.
