“Vulnerable Bodies” Exhibit Opens to the Public
April 15, 2021 @ 12:00 pm - 7:00 pm
The Wisconsin Academy’s James Watrous Gallery hosting is a pop-up exhibition at Garver Feed Mill on the east side of Madison from April 15–July 24, 2021. Gallery hours are Thursday 12:00–7:00pm, Friday and Saturday 12:00–8:00pm, and Sunday 12:00–4:00pm. Please note that the gallery will close for private events on May 2, June 12–13, and June 18–19.
Vulnerable Bodies features six artists —Erica Hess, Masako Onodera, Yevgeniya Kaganovich, Demitra Copoulos, J. Myszka Lewis, and Valaria Tatera — whose work speaks to the paradox of fragility and resilience. In work ranging from small sculpture to ambitious installations, these artists address the body obliquely, working with metaphor and proxies from everyday life. Visit wisconsinacademy.org/gallery to learn more.
The exhibition space is well-ventilated, masks are required, and we will observe occupancy limits to support social distancing. Private viewing may be made by appointment.
Thanks to Wisconsin Academy donors, members, Garver Gallery, and the Wisconsin Arts Board for their support.
