Anna Andrzejewski gave a talk on "Parks and public Spaces in Madison," on Saturday, January 27, for the Friends of Allen Centennial Garden. Her talk looked at the changing cultural landscape of Madison, focusing on the shifting use of public and greenspaces since the time the city was platted in 1836. She paid particular attention to public parks, Capitol Square, and other spaces of public assembly as well as discussed John Nolen’s “visionary” plan for Madison from the early twentieth century and how the city has (and has not) accommodated aspects of that plan in the last 100+ years.
