Matthew Rarey’s (PhD, 2014) co-curated exhibition, Afterlives of the Black Atlantic, at the Allen Memorial Art Museum at Oberlin College, won the 2020 Association of Art Museum Curators’ Award for Excellence for an exhibition from an organization with an operating budget under $5 million.
