Founded in 2013 by advocate Precious Leano and photojournalist Alex Baluyut when the Super Typhoon Yolanda hit the Philippines, the non-profit ARMK sets up a mobile kitchen and engages community cooks, chefs, and volunteers to help prepare hot meals for people affected by natural and manmade disasters. ARMK has served some 800,000 meals to communities affected by calamities throughout the Philippines, including volcano eruptions, floods, typhoons, earthquakes, and the pandemic. Leano is a cultural worker—a curator, theater actor and copyright advocate. Baluyut is a pioneer in Phillippine photojournalism and documentary photography.
