Madison Public Library | The Best of Video Poetry 2024

As part of Poetry Month at Madison Public Library, come enjoy a selection of video poems from the first four years of the Midwest Video Poetry Fest at Hawthorne Library on Saturday, April 27 from 1:30-4pm.! The selected works – specially curated for this viewing at Hawthorne Library by our partners and festival creators Arts + Literature Laboratory – are funny, inspiring, heartbreaking, thought-provoking, and timely.
The Midwest Video Poetry Festival invites audiences to discover (or rediscover) poetry, and it is the first of its kind in Wisconsin. The films included in the festival are short video poems from around the world, as well as work from regional and local artists.
The creators of the festival will be on hand to talk about what video poetry is, provide tips on how to make your own video poems, talk about the films themselves, and answer questions.
