We are very proud of Ph.D. Candidate Lindsay Wells, who has received both the three-month Junior Research Fellowship from the Paul Mellon Centre for Studies in British Art and the Dana Allen Fellowship from UW-Madison’s Institute for Research in the Humanities. Lindsay’s dissertation considers horticultural imagery in the art of the Aesthetic Movement in light of how it visualized, troubled, and reworked relationships between art, empire, and society in Victorian Britain. Lindsay plans to take up these fellowships in the Fall and Spring of 2020–21.
