Sophomore Standing | Humanities Breadth | L&S credit | Register hereDescription: Explores the century that gave us our modern world: light-bulbs, steam engines, mass communications, and globalization, as well as condoms, antisepsis, even computers. The nineteenth-century legacy also includes darker aspects of modernity such as colonialism, climate change, and racial and sexual inequalities.
