Biography
Özlem Eren studies Byzantine and Medieval Art with a focus on Medieval Russia. Her primary interest is the architecture of Kievan Rus’. Prior to beginning her studies at UW-Madison, Özlem received a Ph.D. and M.A. in Economics from UW-Milwaukee and an B.S. in Economics from the METU in Ankara, Turkey. She speaks Turkish, Russian and German; working on Old Church Slavonic. Özlem has studied in the Moscow State University during the summer of 2016 and completed several trips to Russia to explore historically significant monuments, Orthodox churches, monasteries, and museums.
