Gabriel Chazan (Ph.D. Student) co-organized the event “Ancestors and the Archive” with The Magnum Foundation’s Counter-Histories Initiative, a virtual panel discussion about the ethics and future of institutional archives in light of ongoing decolonization debates. Bringing together academics, activists, and archivists, this event explores how archives magnetize competing interests, capture possibilities, and limit political imagination, as well as how they might be read against the grain.
