Student Spotlight: Undergrads Zhaojie Zhong & Noah Mapes Present at Chipstone-CDMC Undergrad Research Symposium

Undergraduates Noah Mapes and Zhaojie Zhong will present their research at the first Chipstone-CDMC Undergraduate Research Fellowship Symposium on August 19th, 2020. This fellowship program offers undergraduate UW–Madison students an opportunity to conduct research in one of the three pillars of the Center for Design and Material Culture: design thinking, material culture, and textiles.

Noah Mapes is pursuing a BA in Art History and Certificate in Material Culture. His work on early American material culture is advised by Ann Smart Martin, Stanley and Polly Stone (Chipstone) Professor of American Decorative Arts and Material Culture.

Zhaojie Zhong is double majoring in Art History and English. Her work on Chinese textiles from the Helen Louise Allen Textile Collection is advised by Yuhang Li, Associate Professor of Chinese Art.
