Mirella Maria, Ph.D. Candidate, has been selected as a 2026–2027 Dissertation Fellow at CENTRO, the Center for Puerto Rican Studies at Hunter College (CUNY), joining the third cohort of Rooted + Relational, its Mellon-funded research initiative. Twelve fellows spend the year under the theme “Black Cuerpas: Race, Body Politics & Culture,” closing with a public symposium and a CENTRO Press volume in Spring 2027. The fellowship supports the Puerto Rico chapter of Mirella’s dissertation, “Digital Curatorial Quilombismo.”
