Professor Thomas Dale and current President of the Medieval Academy of America gave his outgoing presidential address this past Saturday at the Medieval Academy Annual Meeting in Charlottesville, Virginia. His talk was titled “Cultural Encounter, Race, and a Humanist Ideology of Empire in the Art of Trecento Venice.”
