Faculty Spotlight: Prof. Casid speaking at ICA-Philadelphia

Professor Casid has been witness to and writing alongside the unfolding slow-programmed cycle of exhibitions that began at the Beeler Gallery in Columbus, Ohio and has moved, for its 5th chapter, to the ICA in Philadelphia. For the event “Thinking Out Loud” (November 16, 2019), Professor Casid will be presenting in conversation with Anthony Elms (Daniel and Brett Sundheim Chief Curator at ICA), Jo-ey Tang (Director of Exhibitions at the Beeler Gallery at Columbus College of Art and Design), and Jeannine Tang (Assistant Professor of Modern/ Contemporary Art History and Visual Studies at Eugene Lang College of Liberal Arts at The New School) and the artists Nancy Brooks Brody, Joy Episalla, Zoe Leonard and Carrie Yamaoka. Drawing on the themes of individual spirit and collective power, “Thinking Out Loud” will explore the resonances between the individual practices the artists and their collective artistic output as fierce pussy in the context of ICA’s presentation of “arms ache avid aeon: fierce pussy amplified.”
