Student & Faculty Spotlight | Society of Architectural Historians Annual Conference

The Department of Art History was represented at the Society of Architectural Historians 76th Annual International Conference in Montréal, Canada on April 12–16, 2023, by Ph.D. Candidates Tania Kolarik and Abby Armstrong Check, and Professor Jennifer Pruitt. Tania organized and chaired the Historic Interiors Affiliate Group session “Material Religion through the Sacred Interior” in which Abby presented her paper “Re-creating the ‘American’ Medieval in Milwaukee, Wisconsin: St. Joan of Arc Chapel.” Professor Pruitt co-organized and co-chaired the session “Reinventing Islamic Architecture in the 20th and 21st Centuries” with Emily Neumeier of Temple University.
