Ph.D. Student Levi Sherman participated at the James Watrous Gallery Artists’ Show and Tell: Session 1 on Saturday, March 4th, 2023.Stephen Perkins, Levi Sherman, and Kayla Bauer are artists and collectors who share a fascination with artists’ books, mail art, and ephemera. They bring a range of alternative works in various media to share and discuss their own collecting habits, curatorial processes, and personal archive work. As collectors, Perkins, Sherman, and Bauer are interested in how archives function, how they are accessed, and ways to (in Perkins’ words) “mine” or “explode” the archive by reworking it into new forms.
