Professor Thomas Dale and Ph.D. Candidate Drew Narayanan will present their recent research on race in medieval art to the Chicago Seminar on Medieval Culture and Intellectual History on Saturday, December 3rd, 2022 at 1:00pm at Loyola College in Chicago.Prof. Dale’s talk is titled, “Humanism, Racialization, and Empire in Trecento Venice: The Capitals of the Doge’s Palace,” and Narayanan will present, “Sword of the Sultan: Latin Christian Imaginations of a Weaponized Nile in 14th and 15th-century manuscripts.”
