Professor Thomas Dale will be having a busy week as he presents work at the Artificial Light in Medieval Churches between Byzantium and the West workshop and the Medieval Art & Music between Heritage, Modernity, & Multi-Media Symposium hosted by Stanford University.
The Artificial Light in Medieval Churches between Byzantium and the West workshop will take place Thursday, February 9th, 2023 from 8:00am–1:30pm CT. Prof. Dale’s talk, “The Phenomenology of Artificial and Natural Light at San Marco in Venice,” will begin at 8:45am CT. The full program can be found here, and you can register for the workshop here.
On Saturday, February 11th, 2023 Prof. Dale will present his paper, “Mary Magdalen and Sainte Foy: Exemplars of Spiritual Embodiment and Theosis in the Sculpture and Liturgy of Vézelay and Conques,” at 1:45pm CT.
