Ph.D. Candidate Ahmed Abdelazim attended the 18th Colloquium of the Ernst Herzfeld Society that took place in Munich from the 6th to the 9th of July. The conference theme was “Islamic Art in Exchange.” Ahmed delivered his paper “The Making and Remaking of Contemporary Islamic Architecture: Migration and the Development of a pan-Islamic Style during the 1980s,’” which examines how the movement of people, ideas, and daily practices, changed/liberated the ways through architecture was approached.
